The very dense core of a neutron star consists of strongly interacting particles. The researchers simulate the same conditions on Earth in an ultra-cold quantum gas, which under these conditions consists of a soup of superfluid atoms, dimer and trimer molecules. The research contributes to the fundamental knowledge of highly correlated quantum systems, and to the development of new quantum materials and quantum computers based on neutral atoms.
