The University of West Attica (UNIWA) is a public university in the Athens metropolitan area, founded in March 2018 by national law (merging the former Technological Educational Institute of Athens and the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences, with the National School of Public Health joining in 2019). UNIWA operates across multiple campuses (Egaleo Park, Ancient Olive Grove and Athens) and offers a wide range of programs at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels across its Schools and Departments. The university emphasizes applied and interdisciplinary education, research and innovation, hosting numerous research laboratories and projects, modern infrastructure (libraries, conference centres, gyms, health services) and extensive international collaborations and mobility schemes (Erasmus+ and other partnerships). UNIWA serves a large student body and aims to link academic programs to the labour market while promoting sustainability, quality assurance and lifelong learning.
