PRIMA P4 Center: A paradigm shift toward predictive and personalized prevention in Finnish healthcare

PRIMA P4 Center: A New Approach to Health – From Treatment to Prevention The PRIMA-P4 Center project introduces a new, groundbreaking approach to health and wellbeing in Finland. Instead of focusing only on treating diseases, this project aims to shift healthcare toward cost-effective prevention. In collaboration with three wellbeing services counties (Pirkanmaa, Ostrobothnia, and Southwest Finland), universities, and other partners, the project will develop and test a personalized and ethical model for early disease risk assessment and prevention. Childrens health clinics will play a key role in piloting the new procedures. The goal is to improve health outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and create a permanent, national Center for Preventive Medicine. This new center would help people better understand and manage their own health and ensure that healthcare professionals have the tools and training needed to deliver more effective, individualized care.
