Photo-Click-NIR is a methological project which aims to develop new photo-click reactions triggered by Near Infrared (NIR) light. To do so, Infrared photoredox catalysis will be considered by using photocatalysts derived from cyanines which can be commercially available or prepared by our group. Catalysts which are stable, non-toxic and easily customizable, will be selected in order to modulate the photo-chemical properties and the scope of click reactions. Thanks to the low energy and the high penetration of NIR light in biological tissue , this new tool should find many applications in the fields of biology where the spatio-temporal control is crucial. To reach this objective, a part of the project will be devoted to mechanistic studies in order to improve the photocatalysts design.
