The precise modulation of the crystal field in spin transition compounds is essential for their development. This project aims to address this challenge by using a (photo-)redox stimulus, enabling dynamic control of the crystal field. This approach opens new possibilities for tuning spin transitions, thereby enhancing the functional properties of materials in multi-stable and responsive systems. Indeed, through the rational synthesis of ligands, this strategy will allow for the development of innovative materials and a better understanding of the fundamental mechanisms governing spin transitions for future applications in molecular devices.
