This project joins directly in the challenge fixed to the aircraft industry and in particular to the motorists to answer the new environmental requirements fixed by the authorities. One of the possible options nowadays investigated through the various national or European programs is the mass reduction everywhere when it is possible and when the economic conditions are filled. This mass earning spends by the extensive introduction of composite materials. To obtain substantial financial gains in term of the reinforced fibrous materials design, it is necessary to have safe and precise numeric textile structure models. At present, this modelling step is time consuming, random and can be expensive in high added value materials. To cope with this challenge, the NUMTISS project aims at modelling the main manufacturing machine movements producing the final geometry of the textile structure and its damage characterization. The numeric modelling and simulation of the manufacturing process added with the multi-scales law material behaviour knowledge will allow giving a precise and a real geometry of the textile structure. This approach will be applied on the 3D warp interlock fabrics.
