The needs of water are growing up : food, health, industry, etc. (Europe: 500 L / day / person; USA: 1700 L/d/p). The presence of micro-organisms in water, which is becoming rare, leads to multiple risks both for public health and for the industry. The management of these risks is imperative. Prevention needs improved and rapid detection followed by the control of decontamination by effective action and, if possible, non-polluting. Today detection is : - Most often nonspecific (via indirect measure of fecal contamination). - Slow (several days of analysis), which most often induces a curative action. - Too expensive. - For certain industries, not enough sensitive or not enough reproducible. For decontamination : - In homogeneous phase, the problem is the release into the environment. - The physical processes (UV, heat, membrane processes) are energy consumers and non-persistent. - For the protection at the point of use, only the sieve (0.45 micron) are used, they are sealable and expensive. This project proposes a programme of industrial research for a new hybrid material Polypropylene / Dendri-Graft of poly-Lysine
