This project aims to promote a transformative change in the generation and dissemination of scientific knowledge on the effects of interventions for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which is one of the most common condition in child and adolescent mental health services and the focus of the French national strategy for autism within neurodevelopmental disorders (2018-2027). The general goal of this project is to develop and promote the practice of synthetizing and disseminating scientific knowledge about health-related topics, to the benefit of healthcare professionals, patients, their families, and researchers alike. To achieve this goal, we will start by generating the most comprehensive evidence synthesis on the effects of existing interventions for people with ASD (psychosocial and pharmacological interventions, but also complementary and alternative medicine). Then, together with the target audience (healthcare professionals as well as individuals with ASD and their families), we will co-construct the first multilingual online platform dedicated to the large dissemination of scientific knowledge about the effects of interventions for people with ASD. A beta version of this platform has already been created (https://ebiact-database.com/). Last, we will test the efficacy of this platform in terms of delivering key information to first-line healthcare professionals non-specialized in ASD. Notably, this project is in line with both the ‘Science with and for Society’ and the ‘Open Science’ principles: (i) individuals with ASD, their family and healthcare professionals are deeply involved in the rationale and development of the platform, (ii) the code used to create the platform will be made publicly available, (iii) all the data generated by this project and all scientific papers related to this project will be made publicly available and (iv) all the protocols of our studies will be preregistered before their realization (on OSF or PROSPERO).
