The SONOPHOTOCHEM project aims to develop innovative, competitive and eco-efficient processes based on the coupling of sonochemistry and photochemistry for the production of aromatic carboxylic acids of interest (in particular terephtalic acid, for polyester fiber, resins, PET-bottles, PET-films and feed additives industries). The fundamental study performed on a model reaction, in a first time, will be led to better understand the involved mechanisms. The two challenges of the SONOPHOTOCHEM project are (i) the control of sono- and sonophotochemical effects for the selective oxidation and (ii) the industrial implementation of the process (proof of concept). This JCJC Instrument (dedicated to Young Researchers) will allow the coordinator to build his research team in order to develop this new theme among his laboratory.
