At PASQAL, we are committed to realizing the potential of quantum computing in real-world impactful applications. Our Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) utilize neutral atom-based qubits to achieve scalability, stability, and efficiency, surpassing limitations of other technological approaches. We offer versatility with two distinct QPU operational modes: simulator and universal. The former allows for digital twin creation and finely controlled simulations without algorithm development while the latter can process conventional gate-based algorithms. Yet, the error rates of quantum operations must be dramatically reduced – known as quantum error correction (QEC) – to unlock the full potential of quantum computing. Neutral atom-based qubits, thanks to their high-connectivity and three-dimensional configurability, provides a unique technological edge implementing error correction. Our goal in this project is to advance error correction and mitigation techniques for neutral atom-based qubits from the laboratory to the industrial scale in order to unlock the road to next-generation large-scale quantum computers.
