BCV

Basecamp Vascular (Bcv) is set to transform endovascular interventions, especially for stroke and aneurysm treatment, which affect 15 million people annually, causing 5 million permanent disabilities. Traditional procedures are complex, requiring multiple devices, leading to higher complication risks, longer hospital stays, and increased healthcare costs. Inefficiencies in navigation can cause vessel perforation, bleeding, and stroke recurrence, worsening outcomes and straining healthcare resources. Bcv’s Active Navigation System solution features unique mechatronic guidewire technology with Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) actuators. This system ensures precision and control, enhancing navigation through complex vascular pathways. It incorporates advanced materials, electro-active polymers, and real-time wire tip flexion, improving usability and precision during lengthy procedures. The system offers significant benefits, especially for complex cases linked to an aging population. It can reduce procedure times by up to 30%, lower complication risks by 30%, and enhance navigation accuracy. For medical centers, it can cut procedure costs by up to €2000, boost operational efficiency, and increase procedural throughput by 20-30%. For patients, it ensures safer, faster, and more effective minimally invasive interventions, leading to shorter hospital stays and quicker recoveries. Bcv’s innovation aims to revolutionize endovascular procedures, significantly improving patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency globally. This technology addresses crucial medical needs and offers substantial economic benefits, making it a compelling investment for the European EIC Accelerator.
