CPEMES

Through this project, SnerpaPower aims to transform energy management with its advanced Cyber-Physical Energy Management and Execution System (CPEMES). This innovative cloud-based SaaS platform integrates state-of-the-art algorithms for real-time, multi-asset optimization, predictive analytics, and automated market participation to address the unique needs of Power-Intensive Industries (PIIs). By allowing dynamic energy optimization and unlocking revenue potential in European flexibility markets, the platform reduces electricity costs, enhances grid stability, and accelerates the adoption of renewable energy sources, aligning with EU policies, such as the European Green Deal and Renewable Energy Directive. The project tackles key challenges that PIIs face in transitioning to renewable energy, such as navigating volatile markets, managing diverse energy assets, and stringent sustainability goals. For example, CPEMES allows industries like aluminum smelters and hydrogen producers to efficiently adjust energy usage and monetize surplus capacity, without disrupting their core operations. This approach delivers tangible benefits and we estimate up to a 15% reduction in electricity costs for clients and significant reductions in CO2 emissions. SnerpaPower has successfully tested its platform at 10 industrial sites in Iceland, achieving up to a 90% reduction in energy imbalances, and is now ready to further develop the solution and expand its impact across Europe. The projects innovation lies in its ability to utilize real-time data streams to balance operational reliability and sustainability, providing a competitive edge over fragmented or single-asset solutions. EIC support will enable SnerpaPower to further develop new advanced algorithms for multi-market environments, expand the platforms application for new sectors like hydrogen producers, cement and steel, and expand into three major European markets.
