There is a combined population of 6.5 million amputees in North America and Europe, and this number is expected to double by 2050. Despite technological advancements in the last few years, there is a massive lack of exploiting data driven approaches in the prosthetics field. As a consequence, over 75% of amputees still suffer from pain or discomfort while wearing their prosthetic devices and have to undergo costly and inefficient adjustment. At the same time, patients suffer from prolonged claim reviews and high denial rates by healthcare insurances due to the lack of precise patient activity and functional data. What is urgently needed is a completely new approach to prosthetics – from subjective and experience-based adjustments that are based on trial and error to a true data-drive precision medicine approach, enhancing acceptance rates by health insurances and patient welfare simultaneously. At the core of Amparo is the development of the Motio iSocket, the world's first intelligent, self-adjustable prosthetic socket. Unlike traditional sockets, this bionic device demonstrates adaptability and real-time responsiveness. It is designed to automatically adjust itself to ensure an optimal fit in line with the activity the user is performing. The Motio iSocket is directly molded to the patient's residual limb ensuring an ideal fit. Importantly, it can also accommodate dynamic changes, being the first to address residual limb volume fluctuations throughout the day. This innovation is only made possible by our highly motivated and experienced team of 13 professionals. We strongly believe in the power of interdisciplinarity, combining experts from diverse fields. With almost 10 years of experience in the O&P industry, our team has a proven track record of creating and developing medical products, obtaining device certifications and approvals, thereby fostering development in accordance with EN ISO 13485:2016 standards.
