EuroPhotonics, a two-year (120 ECTS) Erasmus Mundus Master’s Program, is striving for excellence in the education of new generations of experts. Its aim is to select top-level students and provide them with skills to manage Optics and Photonics theoretically, numerically, and experimentally. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, mechanics or material science with a solid background in mathematics and physics. The EuroPhotonics Consortium has more than ten years of successful collaboration in the framework of the Erasmus+ program. The Consortium consists of five Partners Universities: Aix-Marseille University (France), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany), the universities and research center in Barcelona (UPC, UB, UAB and ICFO, Spain), Tampere University (Finland), and the University of Vilnius (Lithuania). Several Associated Partners from around the world complete this rich teaching and research environment at the forefront of technological developments in Photonics. The Consortium proposes an attractive and fully integrated international Master’s program in English, at the highest level worldwide, meeting the needs of research, industry, and innovation in the cross-cutting field of Photonics. The first semester is carried out in Marseille to learn the basics and fundamentals in Photonics. The second semester is done either in Karlsruhe or in Marseille to study core subjects. The third semester is dedicated to specialization either in Barcelona, Karlsruhe, Marseille, Tampere, or Vilnius. A 6-month Master’s thesis completes the course. During their studies, students are involved in lab work, team projects, and internships in research labs or industry. Upon completion of the two-year program, successful students are awarded a multiple diploma with a joint certificate. Graduate students can be accepted in PhD studies or find employment as R&D engineers or project leaders in the field of Photonics and its applications.
