Over the last few years, concerns about the impact of digital technology and social media on children’s and young people’s mental health and well-being have figured prominently in public, policy and academic debates. Against this background, the digi.well project will: •Provide a platform for exchange on well-being in a digital world between EUN, project partners and a wider set Ministries of Education and education policy makers.•Develop a self-assessment tool for schools on digital well-being so teachers and school leaders can measure/evaluate their current status, covering three distinct areas of online safety – infrastructure, policy and practice. •Offer training, guidance and easy-to-use materials for schools so they can develop an action plan, helping to understand their current status and key areas to be improved. •Explore innovative models to involve a wider range of stakeholders in a whole-school approach to well-being in a digital world. Key outputs of the projects will include a consolidates scoping report to identify national and European needs, an online assessment questionnaire/tool covering digital well-being from a school infrastructure, policy and practice angle, one national teacher resource per partner country (Serbia, Slovenia, Portugal), good practice guidance for school-helpline cooperation and for schools working with external education professionals/organisations, a variety of European and national capacity building and outreach activities, including an EU MOOC, an EU webinar series, national trainings and national campaigns. Building on lessons learned, the project will also provide more general recommendations for education policy makers and industry to advocate for systemic change.
