(Intrapersonal, interpersonal and soft skills awareness for the development of social competences

"<< Background >>The intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligences, proposed by Howard Gardner, are often overlooked in the standard education system, deemed distractions from basic academic skills. These skills, such as self-awareness, empathy, and communication, are deemed crucial for holistic human development, according to recent reports.The gap between academic and life skills is reflected in the prevailing perception that the family environment is crucial for childhood development. This model suggests that parents, through nurturing, discipline, and instruction, lay the groundwork for a child's sound development.The Superhero project at Colegio Séneca in Córdoba, Spain, emerges from reflection on the needs of students, the school, and the community in a world where digital connectivity has diminished appreciation for the values and efforts of those facing difficult situations heroically but anonymously.<< Objectives >>SUPERHERO is a project focused on raising awareness not only among students but also among families, educational staff, and the entire community about their capacity to address everyday challenges. Its main goal is to highlight people's ability to face difficulties and those working in worthy causes, such as non-profit organizations, health professionals, volunteers, among others.The project focuses on developing personal and interpersonal skills in students aged 12 to 16. It aims to enhance their competencies, strengths, self-esteem, and self-knowledge while fostering a sense of community during a crucial period for personality development and the onset of adolescence. The superhero concept serves as a guide to instill values like gender equality, empathy, entrepreneurship, cooperation, and awareness of one's own and others' capabilities.<< Implementation >>It aimed to awaken skills and awareness in our students and young individuals from various partner organizations, fostering the development of abilities in relation to the society that surrounds them. It is crucial for our youth, the future, to become aware of this and to instigate the necessity of collaborating with others across various domains. Upon getting acquainted with these individuals, they should serve as a source of inspiration, guiding them to follow paths laid by others or to create new avenues for social assistance.The project has functioned within the school and throughout the educational community as a practical implementation and a prelude to what was intended to be conveyed to the entirety of Europe. It is essential to know ourselves and, subsequently, the individuals in our immediate surroundings. It involved the recognition and search for distinguished individuals within our city, followed by interviews and dissemination. Given that we are partners from different countries, this also provided an opportunity to become acquainted with noteworthy individuals for our European partners, several videos have been created with the purpose of learning about the stories of individuals considered superheroes.<< Results >>The results consist of a series of 21 videos created by each of the institutions participating in the project from each partner country. In these videos, students from educational centers interview a person who, for young people, could be considered a ""superhero"" due to their contribution to society, either through their work or other aspects of their personal life that have transcended to modify and/or contribute to an improvement in the immediate environment. They may even engage in activities that impact the rest of the world. These videos have been created following common guidelines, ensuring uniformity in terms of format, while also capturing the richness provided by the unique characteristics of each country."
