<< Background >>A growing and ever-changing globalized world with extreme challenges concerning sustainable economy, diverse ecology, and self-sufficient energy brought us once again to the verge of world conflict. Problems like: wars, extreme movements, refugees, lack of basic living conditions, climate change (drought, wildfires, and possible food scarcity) threaten us all - this Ukrainian war is just a confirmation of what experts are predicting for some time. In the area of environment and food production the concerns are huge and the tech advances aren´t enough to keep up the global demand. A major shift needs to be done and the solution must be local, small scale, brought by active citizens, and involve youth in it.The problems above, are common EU problems if we want to continue to lead by example, but can serve as trigger starters for applying real sustainable resolutions. We need to set today the foundations for future resilient communities that can thrive even in the toughest situation. << Objectives >>The consortium wwanted to use Permaculture as a tool to tackle problems in a holistic way & in last years all become enthusiasts on that field - in the project reality it provides a viable solution for small communities' development.The consortium set up the following objectives connecting with the Erasmus + priorities ● To Train & develop youth workers to replicate the know-how and skills acquired in other places/ communities● to involve Ukrainian refugees as pioners to apply this development & management model;● To provide meaningful, multicultural and life-changing tools to targeted audiences (mainly young people coming from disadvantaged backgrounds and refugees)● To give recognition and validation of youth work in informal and non-formal learning whilst supporting quality development and innovation to all those involved in the project● To create and strengthen a partnership and network with European reach● To develop knowledge and practices in Permaculture & post conflict/ catastrophic scenarios● top achieve recognition of the work developed by the partners involved<< Implementation >>We implemented all expected activities:- a kick-off meeting in Romania- a LTTA in Portugal - Final evaluation in Italy- Final Online dissemination event << Results >>The project results are:- the active involvement of all application partners + IPEC (from Brasil), Primi Piani (from Italy)- We trained and certified 31 staff members with the Permaculture Design Course certificate during the LTTA- an online dissemination platform that is serving as host of materials developed and visibility for all involved (www.projectfoundations.eu)- a Toolkit that connects non-formal education and the Permaculture Principles and Ethics (https://projectfoundations.eu/contents/)- a mini documentary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oxfZ9kiDCo&t=21s)- 4 short teasers presenting the project - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTyD4DP4MxcdPkpDufUiGcOyvDj7Ck6VW- more then 20 educational videos that share insights about sustainable development (https://projectfoundations.eu/contents/)- a deck of cards to support non-formal education activities (https://projectfoundations.eu/contents/)- Instagram account with more then 700 followers and an active dissemination strategy that reached more then 200.000 views (https://www.instagram.com/projectfound_ations)
