"<< Background >>The project ""Couriers Go Green"" was applied for to address the urgent need for sustainability in the transportation and courier sector, driven by significant international developments such as the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The increasing reliance on e-commerce, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has led to a surge in last-mile deliveries, resulting in higher carbon emissions, traffic congestion, and excessive packaging waste. The project aims to tackle these environmental challenges by developing a structured educational framework tailored to the specific needs of courier companies, employees, and decision-makers. This training will equip them with the necessary green skills to implement sustainable business operations, ultimately reducing their carbon footprint. Given the scale of the transportation workforce in the EU—10.8 million people in 2020—the project has the potential for a significant positive impact on both the industry and the environment. By integrating sustainability into courier services, the project aligns with the broader European trend toward a green economy while ensuring economic efficiency and social responsibility.<< Objectives >>To underpin Courier and Transportation Companies to turn their operations greener and finally enhance their environmental performance and sustainability. Acquired Green Training would offer green competencies and green motivation to target group personnel with an utlimate view to improve and optimize Organization's overall Green Environmental Performance.
