Front DESK Reception upSkilling, Exchange and Training in lifelong career guidance.

<< Background >>Covid-19 crisis « provoked social and economic uncertainties for individuals of all ages », as it has been highlighted by CEDEFOP. These uncertainties, entailed by densified transition in the labour market produce growing needs and demand of lifelong career guidance services. To meet the demand, counselling is not enough and experts highlighted the increasing needs of upskilling and reskilling professionnals in charge of providing information and receiving users. The research conducted by RICDM tends to prove this statement. Front-desk reception officers professionalization is merely approached in Lifelong Career Guidance centres. It can be entailed by a high turnover rate or by the profile of the professionals occupying those positions. These positions are as much impacted by structural changes as others in terms of tools and skills evolution. A strong need of reskilling has been expressed consequently. The Desk Reset project was developed in order to produce innovative contents, designed to improve front desk reception activities acknowledgement by career guidance organisations and services. << Objectives >>This project pursued 2 main objectives :- Strengthen the quality of front desk reception services in LLCG centresUpskill the function of reception officer in LLCG centresTo do so, 3 specific objectives has been targeted: -Support the development of new reception practices, better adapted to the users’ needs, in the field of career guidance-Train LLCG centre’s professionals in delivering reception and information services in a Covid and post Covid world.-Increase knowledge and awareness among European stakeholders regarding the major role of reception officers in LLCG centres.<< Implementation >>-Research and case studies on innovative practise and their impact in LLCG centres, at a European level-4 consultation with LLGC end-users on their needs and expectation regarding front desk reception. -4 internal consultation with career guidance centres professionals and their partners to better target lacks and needs regarding organisational tools and practices for front desk reception area and staff.-Mobilisation of a European community of reception practitioners (10 person, 2 meetings)-24 semi structured interviews with LLCG managers and reception professionals-Production of a repository of skills for front desk receptionist-Production a pedagogical structure for receptionist upskilling and reskilling-Production of a validation framework-Conception of e-learning training material (among which 5 VR modules)-Conception of a set of 27 hands on activities to be performed onsite-Organisation of 3 workshop to facilitate the use of VR content by project partners staff.-2 training of trainers-1 campaign of test of the online platform-3 dissemination event-1 project website-1 final conference<< Results >>1 Portfolio of successful practices in the reception area (10 innovations from 5 organisations spread over 5 European countries)1 methodological guidebook for organising and conducting consultation with end-users1 repository of skills for the front desk reception officers1 blended course programme : -E-learning platform (6 modules with 5 VR contents developed)-Set of onsite hands-on activities (27 activities produced) to practice skills and knowledge acquired during the e-learning phaseAmong other realisation, we can highlight the registration of 60 person (out of the project partners) to the e-learning course and their completion of the e-learning programme. Project dissemination enabled 2 organisations, RICDM’s member but not project partners, to integrate training modules into their upskilling internal process. Among project partners, ACTIRIS and PCA integrated all or part of the training course to their front desk reception integration process or to their upskilling roadmap.
