Access2Success: Digital Pathways for Adult Learners, Migrants, and Refugees

<< Background >>This project intended to address an emerging digital divide and lack of accessible education in DigiComp for marginalized adult groups, including LTUA, NEETs, migrants, and refugees. These groups often face barriers in engaging with the digital world, which exacerbates their social isolation, limits their access to opportunities, and hinders their active participation in modern society. Poorly tailored digital education services, limited collaboration among stakeholders, and a lack of value-focused methodologies in adult education further contributes to these barriers. The consortium, comprising NGOs from Sweden, Germany, Poland, and Spain— with 3/4 partners being newcomers to Erasmus+ —came together to collaboratively tackle these issues. The project aimed to strengthen the capacity of adult education providers and empower marginalized adults through participatory and non-formal education methodologies.Focusing on inclusion and digital citizenship, the project sought to equip adult learners with essential digital skills and empower them to navigate the demands of the digital age. The project also laid the groundwork for long-term solutions to the challenges posed by digital transformation, ensuring that no one is left behind.<< Objectives >>S.O.1: Equip marginalized groups (LTUA, NEETs, migrants, refugees) with essential Digital Competences (DigiComp) to bridge the digital divide and enable active participation in the digital society.S.O.2: Develop innovative, learner-centered methodologies and tools, documented in a Working Book, to support adult education providers in delivering effective, experience based digital citizenship education.S.O.3: Strengthen collaboration among adult education providers, CSOs, and municipalities by fostering knowledge exchange and building long-term partnerships among diverse actors in the local communities.S.O.4: Enhance the professional capacities of the consortium and its staff through conduction of local research with the community, case studies exploration, production of national indexes and opportunity to improve their professional skillset in education and methodology development on the topic of digital competences and digital citizenship.<< Implementation >>1/ Facilitation of Focus groups and Case studies with LTUA and NEET adults and Adult Education services from the partners communities and networks, to assess the exact needs of marginalized communities and working approaches to this issue in adult education sector;2/ Developing a Methodology and Tools of education, based on NFE principles3/ Conduction of a mobility (training course/ working group) with the staff and members of the consortium, as well as local community leaders and representatives of associated partner organisations, who are working in Adult Education sector4/ Visualisation and publication of the project outputs (Working Book and National Indexes) for a usage by a broader public and community of educators5/ Multiplication actions through structured dialogue with stakeholders and target groups, as well as development of new collaborations and possibilities for long-term cooperations on topics of Digital Citizenship with local actors in Adult Education and Community work.<< Results >>/Developed four National Indexes analyzing the needs of adult learners, including marginalized groups, and identifying gaps and opportunities for digital competences education in partner countries./Produced 12 case studies and a Working Book containing actionable recommendations and practical tools for educational service providers./Delivered a seven-day training course in Sweden for 24 participants, equipping them with skills in DigiComp, digital literacy, and inclusive education methodologies./Connected with over 60 organizations and service providers through local multiplier actions, fostering collaboration and dialogue./Disseminated the Working Book across multiple online platforms, including Medium, partner websites, and EPALE, ensuring broad accessibility./Maintained consistent online project dissemination throughout the project’s duration./Strengthened the capacity of partners to manage KA2 projects and implement inclusive communication strategies./Established an online network to ensure the ongoing use of tools and sustained advocacy for inclusive practices
