<< Background >>Centerkontura is a provider of vocational rehabilitation services. We provide vocational rehabilitation services with the aim of enabling people with disabilities to become qualified for suitable work, find employment, retain their jobs, and advance or change their professional careers. Our professional staff has observed that young people with special needs who have participated in vocational rehabilitation services lack the skills necessary for a more independent life, which reduces their chances of successfully entering the labor market. We decided to develop training for young people with special needs to strengthen these skills and publish a handbook that can be used by anyone working with young people with various difficulties. We believe that inclusion in employment is the best way to ensure economic independence and social inclusion.<< Objectives >>By including young people with special needs in the training, we wanted to enable them to improve the skills and competencies necessary for a more independent life and easier entry into the labor market. We also wanted to equip the parents of young people with special needs with new knowledge, empower them, and relieve them of their worries. In our organization, we also wanted to strengthen the implementation of programs and services for young people with special needs, acquire new knowledge and tools for work, and connect and collaborate with other organizations. The partner organization wanted to acquire new knowledge and tools and use them in future programs they implement, as well as connect with organizations for new collaborations. The project also aimed to offer new knowledge and tools for working with young people with special needs to other interested organizations.<< Implementation >>As part of the project, we carried out two professional exchanges, developed materials and training for young people with special needs, and implemented it for two groups of young people with special needs. In doing so, we collaborated with their parents or other important adults in their lives. We prepared materials and published an e-guide for conducting training, which will be available for use by anyone working with young people with various difficulties. We established social media platformsand regularly posted information about the project and its results on them. We also presented the project at several events.<< Results >>We conducted an eight-week training program for two groups of young people with special needs. The young people participated once a week. About a month after the training ended, we held a follow-up meeting to summarize and deepen the content of the workshops and provide further recommendations regarding entry into the labor market. We also met with each participant individually and talked to them about their wishes, interests, and employment opportunities. We prepared materials for all eight workshops and the follow-up meeting. We also prepared, published, and released an e-guide for conducting individual workshops or the entire training program for young people with various challenges.E-guide is primarily intended for professionals who work with young people with various problems. They can use it to conduct the entire training program or use the materials only for individual workshops or as an aid in individual meetings with young people.
