Game-based approaches for strengthening youth participation in democracy

<< Objectives >>The project aims to equip youth workers with skills to integrate game-based tools and learning into their work, enhancing youth participation in democracy. It seeks to explore and adapt existing board games as educational tools, fostering civic engagement, critical thinking, and decision-making skills among young people. By developing a practical toolkit and implementing local workshops, the project will strengthen youth workers' competencies and promote interactive, experiential learning.<< Implementation >>- Project management to ensure smooth coordination;- 1 international brainstorming session in PT, where 6 youth workers & 3 youth leaders will research and draft content for the Guide;- Development of a Guide on adapting and applying game-based learning for democracy education;- 1 international training in RO, providing hands-on facilitation practice for 12 youth workers;- Local implementation, engaging 90 young people in civic education through board games, with 3 workshops/partner country.<< Results >>Enhanced democratic participation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills of 90 young people through interactive workshops.Increased capacity of 12 youth workers in using game-based methodologies, facilitation techniques, and engagement strategies for civic education.Developed and tested a practical toolkit, shared with 30+ youth organizations, ensuring long-term impact and sustainable youth engagement in democracy.
