AI in STEAM Education to develop a critical understanding of AI and prepare learners on AI literacy

<< Objectives >>1. to help educators & learners understand the core mechanisms of AI and improve their digital skills & competences for the proper use of AI in the teaching & learning process. 2. to enable teachers to implement the proposed AI curriculum in the classroom. 3. to raise awareness of the impact of AI & develop students’ critical thinking on the use of AI. 4. to enhance internationalisation of the teaching profession & teachers' ongoing professional development.<< Implementation >>-Development of the AI2Schools Curriculum Handbook for secondary schools, introducing AI literacy within STEM practices & STEAM approach-Development of the AI2Schools Project Guidebook with 5 AI-related hands-on and interdisciplinary projects to support and exemplify the implementation of the curriculum-Organisation of blended training courses for teachers to enable them implement the curriculum in their classes-Running pilots in school classes & making teacher- and student-based evaluations<< Results >>The AI2Schools Curriculum Handbook (chapters: literature review; learning objectives; learning methodology; AI-related topics to be addressed; exemplary scenarios for AI projects in STEM context; OERs).The AI2School Project Guidebook (chapters: The 5 AI projects with teacher guides, student worksheets & OERs).Blended Teacher training in 2 rounds (2 months each).Pilots in partner schools in 2 rounds (5 months each).Evaluation of the pilots, lessons learned, recommendations for policy makers.
