<< Background >>This small-scale Erasmus+ project responded to the need for the implementation and systematization of good innovative teaching practices aimed at strengthening key citizenship skills. It is a priority to support the motivation of students in conditions of economic and social disadvantage or from migrant backgrounds, with a view to strengthening their relational, social and intercultural skills. The project allowed them to act in an equal space in relation to other peers coming from different school and family contexts. It also contributed to an increase in musical skills for the youth group of the intercultural orchestra and in digital and IT documentation skills, both through the web platform created by the Polish partner (with relative use by all participants) and through audio documentation -video carried out by some of the male and female student videomakers and photographers. For educational institutions it meant strengthening the school network: for teachers, training in the field of inclusiveness and pedagogical innovation from an intercultural perspective.<< Objectives >>The project promoted social inclusion, intercultural cohesion, a stronger sense of belonging to the local and European community and contributed to strengthening school motivation against early school leaving. The needs can be condensed into these concepts: more inclusion - more interculture - more teaching innovation - stronger sense of European and global citizenship. Some of the participating students were recommended by the reorientation group. All students were scrutinized, preventing school dropout. Some students also participated in other afternoon projects offered by the various Modena institutes. Modena MoltiMondi was a driving force for the creation of profitable educational and teaching activities.<< Implementation >>First of all, musical activities were implemented. The weekly workshop was held every Tuesday for three months (two workshops in total) at the beautiful municipal space La Tenda with professional musicians; four masterclasses were held with prestigious guests also present at the four public concerts (two for citizens and two for Modena high schools). Digital educational documentation activities were also implemented by both student videomakers and teachers. Polish university students have produced an app for documenting and learning musical activities. For high school teachers and social science researchers, implement student involvement, monitoring, teaching support, pedagogical and methodological reflection and self-reflection activities.<< Results >>During the workshops, the students began or improved their knowledge of a musical instrument, tested their vocal skills, got to know musical repertoires from an intercultural perspective, suggested themselves pieces from their own repertoire, even in languages other than Italian (Yiddish, English , Moldavian); they overcame insecurities, establishing a more than satisfactory relationship with all the adults involved. Everyone felt valued and encouraged to give their best, gradually acquiring the awareness that their contribution was fundamental to the success of the collective result. The participants in the project in its various aspects understood the importance of the commitment and in-depth study necessary to be able to achieve the results that were recognized for them even outside the school environment in moments of public giving back to the city (two concerts and dissemination event) and to the school community (two other concerts). Digital skills and documentation activities were also implemented by Polish videomakers and academics. Positive impacts also on teachers (construction, monitoring and dissemination of good practices) and on researchers.
