"<< Background >>The project PEACE addressed the identified need of improving the competences of adult educators and other adult education staff in dealing effectively with the challenges of educating Ukrainian refugees and others who have escaped war and suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Project PEACE aspired to empower Adult Educators with an Online Digital Database of tools and resources for Parasympathetic Stimulation, a vital prerequisite for effective trauma management and maximising learning success of adult trainees. We have witnessed that compelled by ongoing war and other political disturbances, an increasing number of skilled and educated refugees, specifically Ukrainians are seeking temporary refuge in Europe. Europe needs a quick enabling process of re-skilling so that their skills and competence can be quickly channelized by fast-tracking their re-skilling for job integration. There is an abundance of good language learning courses as well as skill trainings, didactically efficient but Adult Learning Environment in Europe needed an ""enabler"" to ensure that traumatised adult learners and refugees are relaxed, at peace and in a parasympathetic state to ensure their learning success.<< Objectives >>The PEACE project objective was to address the critical need to enhance the competencies of adult educators and other adult education staff in effectively managing the challenges associated with educating Ukrainian refugees and others who have fled war and suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Achieving its goal, the PEACE project empowered Adult Educators with an Online Digital Database, filled with tools and resources for Parasympathetic Stimulation, essential for effective trauma management and maximizing the learning success of adult trainees. The project recognized that several courses for language learning, job-coaching, or re-skilling, though pedagogically designed, failed to deliver the expected learning outcomes due to a lack of trauma management competence among adult educators. Our objective was to expand the didactical options available to Adult trainers working with trainees with trauma or PTSD by creating a repository that serves as an ""enabler for enhancing learning success”Our objective was to actively disseminated the PEACE results in our Adult Educators network and through PEACE Conference as OER to Adult trainers and stakeholders.<< Implementation >>Project PEACE, spanning a duration of 12 months, implemented a series of activities focused on enhancing the capabilities of adult educators in dealing with PTSD-affected individuals. These activities included:Research, Compilation, Design, and Creation of an Online Digital Database (ODD) consisting of Trauma-informed Parasympathetic tools and activities specifically curated for Adult Learning Environments. The aim was to create a resource of great didactical value for educators. The project team conducted an extensive peer-review process, exceeding the initial target by researching, compiling and reviewing 129 didactical resources, compared to the proposed 120.In view to the need for accessibility across diverse linguistic groups, the ODD was translated from English into four languages - Estonian, German, Greek, and Lithuanian. Two Transnational Partner meetings were hosted - one in the first month and the other in the eight month. Six virtual meetings in 12 months were also organised. These meetings facilitated collaboration, progress review, and strategic planning among the international partners involved in the project.PEACE Dissemination Conference was organised in Lithuania in September 2024.<< Results >>Project PEACE focused on enhancing adult educators' skills in teaching traumatized individuals and compiled an Online Digital Database (ODD), containing 129 peer-reviewed, trauma-informed parasympathetic tools and activities, tailored for adult learning environments. These resources were made available in English, Estonian, German, Greek, and Lithuanian, ensuring accessibility across Europe. The specific summary and description - not the entire resources - were translated. The database aimed to equip educators with effective strategies for managing trauma symptoms, thereby enhancing learner engagement and success. The project also produced management reports, documenting its development and progression, with Meta4 (AT), Vestifex (EE), SIF (LT), and IASIS (GR) significantly contributing. These Adult Education Institutes and Network NGOs enhanced their project management and intercultural competencies through their involvement, leading to improved operational effectiveness and capacity building within their organizations. Another milestone, PEACE Dissemination Conference was organised in Lithuania in September 2024."
