<< Background >>We applied for this project to modernize and digitalize traditional sports and outdoor games, making them engaging for youth and enhancing their soft skills. Our goals were to develop new learning methods, create a unified sports practice model, share good practices, and increase awareness of traditional games. We aimed to build an accessible platform for broad participation and integrate these traditions into contemporary youth work, addressing broader needs to create an effective European strategy for their revival and education.<< Objectives >>The project allowed for the creation of a European thematic workgroup of beneficiaries (trainers, mentors, youth workers, and sports experts) focused on reactivating traditional sports and outdoor games within today’s youth work and educational world. It encouraged the formation of a new European network to leverage these values for organizations active in the fields of sport, education, and training.<< Implementation >>The project involved a Kick-off Meeting in Turkey, followed by 2 online transnational meetings. It facilitated the mobility of 40 sports trainers, youth workers, and young people through 2 staff training events. Over 3 months, local sport events were held in participating countries, engaging 20 young people with fewer opportunities in each country. Additionally, a digital booklet, desk-research reports, and 3 conferences were completed, and organizational capacity was developed.<< Results >>The concrete outputs and results of the project included:- Kick-off Meeting in Turkey and 2 online transnational meetings- Mobility of 40 sports trainers, youth workers, and young people through 2 staff training events- Local sport events held over 3 months in each participating country, involving 20 young people with fewer opportunities per country.- Creation of a digital booklet with practices and research.- Completion of desk-research reports.- Organization of 3 conferences- Development of organizational capacity** for partner organizations.
