"<< Background >>The environment and climate change are transnational problems: earthquakes, fires, rising sea levels. We wanted to make our learners active and informed on these subjects. As the learners were young, it seemed easy to inform them on the subject. They are sponges that retain, are able orally to convince other audiences, especially adults close to them. If the objective, the common thread of this project has been the environment and the climate, other needs have been identified for us: openness to others, to other cultures, ways of life in order to encourage the acceptance of all, empathy, the unification of peoples, trust. Too many learners are suspicious, worried about foreigners, have prejudices. And these behaviors are often a reflection of adults. This need for openness has linked us all throughout the project.<< Objectives >>The objectives were to:- Raise awareness of environmental issues and climate change in each country.- Develop strategies to help with change.- To make learners, staff and families actors of change.- Establishment of a dynamic environment to help combat these issues. These objectives have also made it possible to respond in a cross-cutting way to the other two priorities: ""European identity, citizenship and values"" and ""Prevention of racism and discrimination"" by taking into account the different learning outcomes linked to geographical and socio-economic disparities. They will also take into account social, ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity.<< Implementation >>The activities offered were concrete, fun and active. The learners built with their hands, played, visited. Associations and universities have accompanied us throughout the project. It was possible to rely on them in all four countries.<< Results >>Through this activity, students, learners and parents were better informed and aware of the environment and climate change. The participants' foreign language proficiency improved. This has led to an increased interest in foreign languages and transnational projects in schools.Concrete actions have been put in place: waste collection in three countries, implementation of selective bins, zero waste picnics, reduction of plastic waste, .....We hope that the new behaviours acquired will last over time. The way target audiences look at it has changed. Together, despite our differences, we can be stronger and help change the world."
