Zvýšenie pohybovej aktivity po pandémii spôsobenej COVID19

<< Background >>The COVID-19 pandemic and its related interventions significantly impacted people’s daily lives, with restrictions on movement leading to a decrease in physical activity and a subsequent decline in overall health quality. The disease itself negatively affected the cardiovascular, circulatory, respiratory, and musculoskeletal systems, exacerbating the deficit in physical activity. This situation underscored the need to address the negative health trends within the population. Our primary objective was to determine the extent of the decline in physical activity in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland and to assess its impact on public health. Additionally, we aimed to educate the public about the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on health and to develop recommendations and educational materials to increase physical activity and improve health after recovering from COVID-19 and other conditions associated with reduced physical activity.<< Objectives >>The main aim of the project was to increase the level of physical activity (PA) among selected target groups in three countries (Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia). We divided the overall project time into shorter periods and implemented sub-objectives within them:1. Determine and compare the current status of PA in the partner countries before and after COVID19 pandemic.2. Analyze the findings, draw conclusions, and map the negative impact on PA, health, and performance, subsequently presenting these findings through conferences and lectures in an effort to raise awareness about the decline in PA and highlight the need for action. 3. Develop recommendations for increasing PA and improving health after recovering from COVID19. 4. Validate the recommendations and develop educational material for undergraduate students with degree programmes in medical, health and educational sciences, who can then disseminate the recommendations through their practice to the general population.5. Disseminate awareness of the importance of PA and its positive effects on human health at international level (conferences, lectures, web)6. Establish long-term cooperation between the institutions and continue it after end of the project.<< Implementation >>During the project, we have carried out research activities aimed at expanding the issues of COVID19, PA and their impact on human health. Within the project results (PRs), we implemented the following activities: PR1- Selection of an appropriate type of questionnaire and its completion- translation of the questionnaire and its distribution to selected target groups- collection of objective data through a questionnaire surveyPR2- summarisation and content analysis of the results obtained- qualitative and quantitative analysis - preparation of a manuscript of our findings- preparation of a collection of abstracts from conferencesPR3- preparation of movement recommendations for selected target groups according to the focus of the specific partner (trainers, physical education teachers, physiotherapists, people with respiratory diseases) in English language- translation of the recommendations- testing the recommendations - preparation of a questionnaire about effectiveness of the recommendations- qualitative analysis based on the responses received from the questionnaire surveyPR4- preparation of the final educational material in English - preparation of collection of abstracts from the final conference<< Results >>Specific outputs or other results of the project are:1. Text document summarising the importance of PA and its monitoring after the COVID19 pandemic.2. Scientific articles summarising the impact of PA on positive and negative health outcomes and mapping PA in university students during the COVID19 pandemic in partner countries.3. Collection of abstracts from multiplier events organized in each partner country.4. Manuscript comparing PA levels between the partner countries after COVID19.5. Recommendations for increasing PA for students - physical education teachers, coaches, physiotherapists and people with respiratory problems (in English but also in the national languages of the partner countries).6. Summary of the results of the questionnaire survey from the application of the developed movement recommendations in each country involved in the project.7. Collection of abstracts from the final multiplier event organised by the project coordinator.8. Educational material (scripts) summarising main results of the project (diseases related to physical inactivity, recommendations and exercises aimed at increasing PA, health and physical condition).9. Dissemination materials aimed at sharing results and its sustainabilty.
