The ”Support for the enhancement-oriented implementation of the quality assurance key commitment” - SIQA project is proposing to support the work of the Bologna Thematic Peer Group C on Quality Assurance (TPG C on QA) during 2025-2028, building on the achievements and best practices from the IMINQA project that supported the work of the TPG C during 2022-2025. The project will focus on providing support to TPG C members, through a collaborative approach, in addressing the remaining implementation gaps in EHEA countries of the third key commitment: “promoting a quality culture in higher education, fostered by fit-for-purpose quality assurance processes in line with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the EHEA (ESG)”, and on other commitments related to quality assurance, such as cross-border QA (CBQA) and the use of the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programs (EA). Two of the WPs are dedicated to directly support the group’s collaboration and peer exchange: the organisation of 6 TPG meetings and a staff mobility program. Thematic analysis will also be conducted. Another WP focuses on international cooperation in external quality assurance (EQA) and aims to support QAAs and ministries in facing the challenges related to CBQA, to address the implementation gaps related to the EA and provide transparent and up-to-date country-level information on the state of implementation of the ESG and of the EA. The project will also provide peer-learning on “innovative” EQA practices to respond to the needs of multiple stakeholders, focusing on three topics (QA of flexible learning pathways, European Universities alliances, simplification and streamlining of EQA procedures to counter the effect of the “evaluation fatigue” with a renewed quality culture). The outcomes of the project will contribute to the work of the BFUG and to the next EHEA ministerial Communiqué and to the preparatory activities for the next BFUG working period.
