DIGIBIOVET - Digital Ecosystems in Biodiversity: Enhancing Vocational Education and VET Quality Assurance

The DIGIBIOVET project is dedicated to combating biodiversity degradation and advancing digital and green vocational educationacross Mozambique, Nigeria, Madagascar, Malawi, and Ethiopia. It aims to bolster existing EU initiatives by targeting priority areasoutlined in the SSA MIPs, including the green transition, biodiversity conservation, digitalization, and sustainable growth. Throughthe development of tailored work-based learning curricula, the project seeks to empower local communities and professionals withthe skills needed to conserve biodiversity effectively. Training programs will focus on biodiversity conservation, sustainable resourcemanagement, and livelihoods led by biodiversity. By providing education on ecosystem and wildlife management, the project aimsto promote sustainable practices and mitigate threats to biodiversity, ensuring the preservation of Africa's rich ecosystems for futuregenerations. In addition to curriculum development, the project will implement an e-teaching competences course to equip TVETtrainers with the digital skills necessary for curriculum digitalization. This initiative will be complemented by various activities aimedat fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, aligning VET programs with socioeconomic opportunities, andenhancing skills provision to meet labor market demands. Peer-to-peer learning opportunities will enhance e-competences, whilecapacity-building initiatives will promote inclusive and high-quality education. Gender-balanced participation will be prioritized in allactivities, with content designed in collaboration with partner organizations and enterprises to ensure relevance and inclusivity.Micro-credentials will be offered as evidence of professional development, enhancing learners' employability and credibility insustainability fields. Furthermore, the project will establish an inclusive and mobile-friendly Learning Management System (LMS).
