NEBULA - New European Bauhaus in Urban and ruraL Areas

<< Background >>The launch of this project follows the European Commission's 2020 initiative New European Bauhaus (NEB), which aims to connect the European Green Deal with the daily lives and environments of Europeans. This movement calls for a response to ecological, social and societal issues by working towards the transformation of our societies according to three key values: sustainability, aesthetics/beauty and inclusion.NEBULA is following in the footsteps of this initiative, making young people the leaders of tomorrow's changes based on NEB values. To take advantage of their new vision so that they can respond to societal challenges through entrepreneurial projects. The project aims to raise awareness of the NEB among young people (and all those who can support them), to enable them to acquire the skills to develop a long-term and structured project and to provide them with tools to implement and share their ideas. Training and inspiring young people would thus be a solution for making rural and urban areas more sustainable (to face and adapt to global warming), more beautiful (to make them more pleasant places to live and integrate into) and more inclusive(to make them accessible to all).<< Objectives >>The project aimed to encourage youth entrepreneurship by providing young people with the key skills needed to successfully complete a project, while integrating the values of the New European Bauhaus (NEB). To this end, several objectives were defined:- Multidisciplinary educational tools (management, finance, communication, sustainable development), inspired by projects awarded the NEB Prizes, were created to strengthen young people's personal and professional skills.- The New European Bauhaus initiative and values were promoted via the project website, targeted actions aimed at young people and an activepresence on social media.- The training courses set up stimulated initiative, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit through practical workshops, simulations and debates.- The project promoted European cooperation, the sharing of initiatives and the replicability of social, environmental and community actions related to urban and rural regeneration, thanks in particular to a networking tool.- The involvement of stakeholders (mentors, entrepreneurs, educators) aimed to raise their awareness of NEB and their role in supporting young project leaders.<< Implementation >>To achieve the project objectives, the NEBULA consortium partners have implemented various actions:- A ‘Dos and Don'ts’ Manual for Young Entrepreneurs presenting the project objectives, the values of the New European Bauhaus, the advantages of entrepreneurship, as well as practical advice (management, financing, communication) and concrete examples of successful projects from the NEB Prizes and successful projects at the local level.- On this basis, a three-module training course (financing, management, communication) has been designed for young people.- Specific training for youth professionals has been developed, including teaching tools, case studies and activities to convey the project's values.- A networking platform for young people and supervisors to exchange, create networks and share ideas on a European scale.- A Manifesto inviting young people to get involved and local stakeholders to support them.- Workshops and round tables organised around sustainable entrepreneurship, accompanied by experts, in order to stimulate innovation and creativity among young people.- A contest called “Pitch your NEBULA model” gave young people the chance to propose innovative projects embodying the values of NEB.<< Results >>The results of the NEBULA project have all been produced with a logic of interconnectivity and reuse:- The lessons of the Manual have been collected from interviews with winners of the New European Bauhaus Prizes and case studies of ‘regenerative’ projects undertaken at the local level, addressing or involving young people.- These lessons and the reference projects have also been included in the two e-trainings. What could not be highlighted has been detailed in summary sheets on the platform.- The winning projects in the contest were highlighted on the platform (and social networks) to reward the winners and give visibility to their ideas.- All the major results have been translated into English and the languages of the partners.- They are accessible on the platform, some with free access others after creating an account for the proper functioning of the platform (training, networking tool).- Webinars to involve stakeholders in the project and train young people in NEBULA lessons to help them gain professional skills have also been organised.- The manifesto, shared across Europe, reflected youth insights and showcased inspiring initiatives.
