Faciliter l'inclusion numérique par la formation professionnelle

<< Background >>Today, digital technology is an essential tool, used daily in both the private and professional worlds. Nevertheless, in the European Union, only 54% of the population have basic digital skills, and 14% have none at all (DESI, 2022). To ensure that no one is left behind by the digital transition, we need to strengthen support for vulnerable groups, who are particularly affected by digital exclusion. Social workers are also impacted by digital technology, which is transforming their professional practices and creating new challenges for the people they support. Social workers need tools, resources and skills to better support them.Through this project, we aim to better train social workers to understand the digital inclusion issues and to take action against digital divide by using adapted tools and practices in their own countries.<< Objectives >>Given the scale of digital exclusion in Europe, three social organizations - Emmaüs Connect, Liberittutti and Emmaüs Satu Mare - have joined forces to share their expertise and skills, with the following objectives:- Improve understanding of the digital barriers encountered by vulnerable groups and social professionals through a study in Romania and Italy;- Share field experiences between social organizations to improve digital inclusion knowledge and practices;- Design and test training courses for social workers to help them enhance the digital skills of their target groups;- Create content that can be easily accessed and disseminated to all social sector across the European Union; In the long term, the aim is to improve the social and professional integration of the most excluded, by facilitating high-quality digital training.<< Implementation >>During 12 months, the three organizations worked together on a number of activities: - Report on digital inclusion issues in Romania and Italy, based on: a state of the art, a mapping of some 40 local stakeholders and initiatives, existing educational resources' identification, a survey conducted among some 40 users and social workers, immersions in 5 social structures, as well as 11 interviews with digital inclusion stakeholders;- Experience-sharing workshop with all project partners, held in France, to discuss findings from the field and initiate the training basis;- Design of new professional training modules adapted to digital inclusion challenges in Italy and Romania - Training sessions held with 19 social workers in Turin and Satu Mare;- Finalization, translation and dissemination of all deliverables for the wider social and digital sector.<< Results >>By conducting a study, this project gave each partner the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the digital inclusion issues specific to their country, identify new local organizations and extend their partner network. The project also enabled us to design new professional training modules, which were successfully tested. A total of 19 social workers from 9 different organizations were trained in the digital challenge, the educational resources adaptation and the digital workshop design. In the long term, by disseminating the deliverables to as many associations and social organizations as possible, we hope to improve support for the digitally excluded and help bridge the digital divide across Europe.
