Data for better energy and climate monitoring

<< Background >>The changed climate is one of the largest challenges that mankind face. Connected to this is the use and production of energy. The industry is an important actor and have a role to work with energy savings and climate mitigation. To get a more effective energy use and mitigate the effects on the climate we need to have a better statistical monitoring of these fields and methods to do this. An improved monitoring will enable public authorities to provide better support in form of education, information and financially. There is a lack of tools to monitor and evaluate the energy and climate mitigation work on a regional and local level. There is also a need of adapting which data to insert into a monitoring tool since the goals can change depending on current policy. In the beginning of the project we decided to focus on three essential parts of the challenge in getting better energy and climate data: collection, analysis and visualisation of it. << Objectives >>A better knowledge on how we can tackle the challenges stated above and ways to move forward and developing new methods and tools to address this. << Implementation >>The project had four main activities to ensure that the objectives and outcomes where met:1.Kick-off meeting in Bologna2.Collection of knowledge and practises3.Final seminar4.Stakeholders reporting backDuring the whole project a knowledge report were produced to ensure that the knowledge gained from each of these activities are kept and spread after the project have ended. << Results >>After the activities in the project the project partners have gained knowledge and experiences on how each country work with energy and climate data. This is something that has been spread to stakeholders in each country. The concrete result has been the knowledge report (mentioned above) and the project proposal for the next step in the work to improve the data on energy and climate.
