The “Shaping the Future of Universities: Twin Transition across the Mediterranean” project aims to modernize higher education institutions (HEIs) in Tunisia and Palestine by integrating sustainability and digital transformation in alignment with the European Green Deal and the Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027). Given the environmental and socio-economic challenges in these regions—including water scarcity, desertification, and limited digital infrastructure—this initiative strengthens institutional capacities to act as hubs of climate-responsive education and AI-enhanced learning. The project specifically addresses critical gaps in governance, curriculum development, digital inclusion, and cross-border collaboration, ensuring HEIs can deliver equitable, high-quality education while meeting UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4, 13, and 17).The initiative leverages European expertise from Italy (University of Naples Parthenope) and Turkey (AHBVU), alongside local partners like Elemtiez VET Center and BOSEV, ensuring strong vocational and youth engagement components. The project complements existing green campus initiatives and digital modernization efforts in partner HEIs, offering a scalable, replicable model for the broader Euro-Mediterranean region.By fostering AI-driven learning, interdisciplinary sustainability education, and inclusive governance, this Erasmus+ project ensures HEIs in Tunisia and Palestine can lead regional transitions toward a green and digital future, equipping students with critical green skills and digital competencies to drive sustainable economic growth.
