EmoSoVo - Inclusive Radio Emociónate and Radio SoVo celebrate together 100 years of radio.

<< Background >>We wanted the EmoSovo project to be one more step in the life of the radio of both entities, Fundación San Cebrián(Palencia, Spain) and PSONI (Poland), which already worked with the radio as a means of inclusion and socialization ofpeople with intellectual disabilities. In both entities, radio is a means of inclusion, socialization and constant learning. Withthe project application we wanted to demonstrate the importance of radio in people’s lives, and cover an important part inpeople’s lives, make them feel special and radio, in this case, it allows to feel the person who is put in front of an importantand special microphone. Among the needs we address: the lack of knowledge of new technologies among people withintellectual disabilities and the lack of skills in this same matter, as well as the need of adults with intellectual disabilities toleave their comfort zone<< Objectives >>Mainly we hoped to achieve happiness in people and we have achieved it, in addition to getting their personal satisfactionand being able to learn new digital skills to improve their skills. In addition, we wanted to achieve inclusion in informationtechnologies for people with disabilities and their inclusion with digital tools since these two factors would allow them toparticipate more in social life. Being able to develop an Internet radio, make programs through platforms such as ZOOMand develop a manual that allows other groups to develop an Internet radio were other objectives that we set when westarted the project.<< Implementation >>Since the beginning, and as marked the initial project we have made two online programs, around the traditions of eachcountry: • In April we developed one with Easter as a central theme. The program was online and in the case of EmociónateRadio made its program live from a Brotherhood, which allowed the Polish comrades and all viewers of the program couldsee close up one of the most impactful Spanish traditions, as are the steps of Easter. • In December, on the occasion ofChristmas we held a special program around Christmas traditions and in both, the two radio groups invited two people whotold the Christmas traditions in a different way. PSONI interviewed a Polish priest and Emociónate Radio interviewed a nunwho for several years runs a museum with a significant number of nativity scenes from around the world. We also held twoface-to-face meetings, one in Palencia and the other in Warsaw. Meetings in which participants and other people from othergroups - two meetings were open to the public and participated in the same- learned how inclusive radio works in Palenciaand how a podcast website made by a blind person in Poland works.<< Results >>Regarding the concrete results of our project: - Elaboration of an Inclusive Radio manual, in the 3 marked languages:English, Polish and Spanish. A manual that aims to be an essential tool to launch a radio for people with intellectualdisabilities anywhere in the world. Carry out a digital radio, how to do interviews, news, how to structure a radio program...everything is explained in a manual, which has been incorporating aspects as activities were developed during the radioproject. - Two online broadcasts with each country’s Easter and Christmas traditions. Both radio broadcasts were held on 12December and 28 April 2022. - Two face-to-face meetings in Warsaw and Palencia on inclusive radio and radio history.The meetings took place on 22 November in Warsaw and on 18 October in Palencia. - Preparation of a promotional videoof the project with images and moments of face-to-face meetings and the celebration of programs.
