Support Environmental Education for sustainable Development touriSm FOR TOMORROW

<< Background >>The Seeds for Tomorrow project has addressed the need to train skilled figures able to support tourism companies in the achievement of EU Ecolabel. The presence of trained professionals skilled on the obtaining of green certifications in tourism will be a determinant aspect for the competitiveness of a company, become a main need and relevant asset for the EU countries in order to meet the requirements for the 2050 EU Climate strategy.<< Objectives >>The project therefore undertakes to O1 Enable the workers and professionals in the tourism sector to develop new green skills and competencies in the green certification field (e.g. about the EU Ecolabel). O2 Enable the target group to develop basic and specific green competencies to help tourism businesses and destinations to reach their sustainable development goals. O3 Enable the Consortium Partners to develop a deep expertise about how to get green certifications. O3 Support Unemployed People as consequence of Covid-19 crisis in re-skilling actions. O4 Increase the availability of flexible modular blended VET learning opportunities on sustainable tourism tailored and accessible for the target group. O5 Foster a cross-border and cross-sector cooperation between VET organisations and businesses active in sustainable tourism. O6 Raise awareness among the target group about sustainable tourism opportunities and motivate them to develop green skills.<< Implementation >>During the project, the partners have implemented 5 main activities: a course named Course for ECOALBEL auditors to improve skills and knowledge about EU Ecolabel in tourism among a target group composed by individuals from the project partners, the field of tourism and/or of sustainability; Two training courses to guide Italian and Turkish tourism facilities in obtaining the EU Ecolabel; Project management activities to coordinate the partners, monitor and assess the results and manage the activities; Communication activities to share information about the project activities and disseminate the results such as Website, Social media channels, 6 events.<< Results >>The project has transferred skills and competencies about EU Ecolabel to 14 individuals and a group of them has supported three tourism facilities in the development of the EU Ecolabel report. Two tourism facilities have submitted to the competent body the application form in order to obtain the certification.Other concrete results has been website, Project mangement handbook, Communication and dissemination Deliverable, 1 training course consisting of 36 hours of training, 1 training toolkit in English for EU ECOLABEL Auditor certification, 1 training toolkit in Turkish and Italian EU ECOLABEL certification course, Two Ecolabel dossier. In addition, the following qualitative objectives will be achieved:a)Developing knowledge and skill relating the EU Climate Strategy towards climate-neutral by 2050.b)Spreading a deeper understanding of the concept and the functioning process of the green certification focusing on EU ECOLABEL.c)Creation of new relationships
