"<< Background >>We applied for this project to address two critical needs: the social inclusion of young people with migrant backgrounds, including refugees, and the pressing need to make environmental sustainability more accessible and actionable for youth. Migrants and refugees often face barriers to community engagement and social integration, while environmental sustainability is a global challenge that requires the active participation of all citizens. This project sought to bridge these two areas by empowering young people, particularly those with migrant or refugee backgrounds, to become true agents of change for environmental sustainability. Additionally, we recognized the need to equip youth with the digital skills necessary for future employability in the growing green economy, as well as to promote social entrepreneurship and active citizenship. By fostering intercultural dialogue and environmental action, the project aimed to enhance inclusion, build stronger communities, and address climate change<< Objectives >>The main objectives of this project were to:Promote social inclusion practices for young people with migrant backgrounds, including refugees, by actively involving them in community-based environmental actions.Empower young people as true agents of change for environmental sustainability by fostering their social engagement and participation in sustainability efforts.Develop social entrepreneurship competencies in young people, particularly around environmental issues, to enhance their future employability in social-ecological sectors and green jobs.Promote digital knowledge and competencies among young people, enabling them to use digital tools to create change in society, support environmental sustainability, and increase their employability.Facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices among partner organizations on how to effectively promote inclusion, environmental sustainability, and digital transformation in mixed groups.<< Implementation >>A 32-hour training program was conducted in Arad, engaging 16 young people and 4 youth workers. These sessions included social gardening, clean-up (environmental clean-up combined with jogging), and social campaigns, with active participation from intercultural groups, including at least 20 young migrants and refugees. We developed and translated a vademecum titled ""TIPS for an Intercultural and Sustainable Community."" This guide served as a practical resource for promoting social inclusion and sustainability. We organized 3 Transnational Project Meetings and one staff workshop, which focused on the inclusion of refugees in environmental sustainability efforts and how to manage intercultural groups effectively.Four local Multiplier Events were held to disseminate the results of the project and engage wider communities in the discussion on social inclusion and environmental sustainability.<< Results >>We successfully trained 80 young people and 16 youth workers on environmental sustainability, social entrepreneurship, green jobs, and digital skills, empowering them to take active roles in their communities.Four intercultural groups, each with at least 20 participants, including young people with migrant and refugee backgrounds, were formed and led local environmental activities, fostering collaboration and social inclusion. We developed, translated, and disseminated the vademecum ""TIPS for an Intercultural and Sustainable Community,"" offering guidelines for inclusion and sustainability.A total of 80 local sessions were conducted, focusing on environmental sustainability activities such as social gardening and clean-up, which strengthened social cohesion and intercultural dialogue.Partner organizations enhanced their capacity for international cooperation and project management, particularly in addressing social inclusion and sustainability.Four successful Multiplier Events were held, sharing the project’s results and raising awareness of the social inclusion of migrants and refugees and the importance of environmental sustainability."
