Change high school students’ ignorance on green issues

<< Objectives >>The transfer of information on climate change has reached a peak nowadays. Although students know a lot about green topics, they are still reluctant to act which can be explained with, inter alia, psychological barriers such as lack of trust or individual responsibility. Greengnorance’s objective is changing high school students’ ignorance on green issues by improving their skills and equipping their teachers who can help them become conscious, active citizens who can shape our clean future.<< Implementation >>Greengnorance is built upon 4 work packages which support project management, methodology and toolkit development, piloting and assessment, and increase the impact of the project and its results. The professional activities will be carried out by green experts, high school teachers, and psychologists to ensure interdisciplinarity and to be able to apply a holistic approach. A workshop, a training, networking events, meetings and piloting will increase the efficiency of the outputs.<< Results >>As a main result, Greengnorance would like to offer solution for the negative societal impact of green ignorance among high school students by creating methodologies, a toolkit and a guidebook for high school teachers to change students’ ignorance on green topics taking into account psychological aspects as well. The outputs, which will be in line with the UN’s SDGs, will apply an interdisciplinary approach in environmental education. A policy recommendation will also be developed.
