"<< Background >>Terre-en-vue (ngo - Belgium, founded in 2011 - here TEV) and Terre de Liens (ngo law 1901 - France, founded in 2003 - here TDL) are two citizens' organizations set up to protect food-producing land, support (future) farmers in their search for land and thus accelerate the agro-ecological transition. Our two organizations have made the education and mobilization of citizens the cornerstone of their action. With this project, our two organizations wanted to structure and professionalize the reception of citizens who are working to protect and make good use of agricultural land, through exchanges of practices, the construction of spaces for commitment within our structures, the creation of a commitment pathway and the constitution of a network of ‘point of contact’ volunteers, spread across the territory and capable of mastering the issues linked to agricultural land and mobilizing other volunteers around these issues. The project has enabled us to address the issue of civic engagement and volunteering, to identify the key issues and to set up spaces and training to better welcome and equip volunteers in our organizations.<< Objectives >>The aim of the project was to :- identify the skills (human, technical, political and digital) that needed to be developed by these referent volunteers- propose training and educational tools to help them acquire these skills- identify and mobilize a network of ‘point of contact’ volunteers, spread across the regions and effective relays for mobilization at European level.<< Implementation >>As part of this project, we implemented 4 major activities: 1/ Diagnosis of existing practices to support volunteers in their commitment to the issue of access to land. Each organization co-constructed a diagnosis of the state of this issue within its structure, and of the needs and opportunities. Our two organizations also met at two key events in Paris and Arcachon, enabling us to understand each other's reflective practices and to identify our respective positions in terms of volunteer involvement, as well as our needs. 2/Co-construction of training and tools to facilitate the development of the skills of referent volunteers (December - March). As TEV is a more recent organization than TDL, it focused more on the structuring of a ""volunteer pathway"" and the creation of new areas of commitment, identified thanks to the project as a prerequisite for the training of referent volunteers capable of welcoming new volunteers. 3/ Testing these tools (April - May). 4/ Dissemination of these tools within our organizations and to our national and European partners (June - August).<< Results >>For TDL, the project has made it possible to update the diagnosis of the welcoming of volunteers in the network, and to mobilize a group of ""welcoming"" volunteers to co-construct and test tools designed to strengthen the skills of their counterparts. This training programme is made up of 3 modules: - ""Talking about Terre de Liens” (e-learling)- ""Welcoming people in popular education"" (face-to-face)- ""Handling tools and structuring the reception process"" (methods to be defined). At TEV, the project has enabled us to gain a better understanding of the issues of civic engagement, with a view to structuring the organization of volunteer work. The project resulted in: - the creation of a ""volunteer pathway"", with different stages and tools- the creation of an embryonic ""citizens' committee"", the development of skills and an understanding of the complexity of the issue by a group of lead volunteers- the training of the team in the popular education approach- the co-drafting of a strategic plan summarizing the proposals for structuring the voluntary work. - Meetings with local people to set up local groups- The creation of thematic groups"
