From Adaptation to New Skills and self-employment

<< Background >>The project aims to capacity building of Business support organizations in order to help migrants from Czech Republic, Poland and Portugal. The Ukraine crisis and migration to EU countries has created the need of providing new services for migrants. Their employability is often a problem if the know-how of national language is insufficient. The FANS consortium supported migrants who want to develop their careers in Czech Republic, Poland, or Portugal. The project partners provided them with essential country-specific knowledge and entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to develop their career and integration with the local economy.FANS project is responding to the lack of systematic training programmes for migrants and also to the lack of competences of BSOs‘ staff for working with migrants and helping them to become a part of job market. The common motivation for project partners was to systemize, update and innovate training offers for migrants in order to support their social and labour market integration.<< Objectives >>The primary goal of the FANS project was to enhance the capacity of Business Support Organisations across Europe in addressing the reception and integration of migrants and refugees. The sub-goals were set as following:-sharing of good practices in integration and employability of migrants in partner countries and creation of transferrable model for similar context;-improve the employability of migrants by developping new innovative business-support training offers;-create a newly designed service and supportive materials for migrants wishing to start their business in Czechia, Poland and Portugal;-reduce language and cultural disparities in training offers for national and migrant citizens and thus to support their inclusion. << Implementation >>The main project work was divided into three parts:-Activity 1 consisted of getting to know each other – all partners prepared SWOT analysis for their organization, then the common SWOT was prepared for consortium (4 SWOTs in total). After online meetings and presentations, the face to face international inspirational workshops took place in CZ, PL and PT (3 international workshops). The newly-gained know how was afterwards transmitted to internal organizations‘ staff during in-company seminars (7 seminars in total).-Activity 2 goal was to build capacity of adult staff by inviting an external expert to online peer-learning events. In total, there was 1 peer-learning session organized by each partner (3 in total).-Activity 3 was determined to test the newly-gained know-how by designing of a new service for migrants. Each partner then piloted one newly designed service on at least 10 participants from defined TG. At the end, the Good Practice guide was created in order to put together good practices from partners‘ ecosystems and also good practice from piloting service.The important part of the project was also dissemination that was done continously during the project lifetime.<< Results >>The most important output of the project was the increased competences of BSO’s staff and 3 newly designed and piloted service for migrants aiming to increasing their employability and integration. Also, important part for transferring the knowledge is the Good Practice guide that can be used by organizations wishing to implement new services for expats/migrants worldwide.Apart of the intangible added value of capacity building and new opportunities for employment for expats, there were project management documents created (photos, attendance lists, evaluation reports…) and dissemination materials published (posts on social media, leaflets, partners website page dedicated to the project etc.).
