<< Background >>The idea of the project was based on the awareness that, despite the rapid progress of technology and its active penetration into all spheres of life (including education), teachers and trainers in contact with adult learners were still not well prepared to respond to the specific needs of some of their students: the problems of adult learners with dyslexia were found to be underestimated and, above all, many of the teachers in adult education centers (or other types of adult education institutions) did not have the basis to be able to recognize the specific signs of dyslexia, nor did they know digital tools that could help them during lessons. This despite the presence of numerous studies that demonstrate how the frequency of dyslexic symptoms represents a significant social problem: a person with dyslexia who is not identified in time does not receive the right support, consequently he/she cannot express his/her full potential and be useful to society (this was one of the needs that the project wanted to meet with its final products).<< Objectives >>With the DYGI4ADU project we aimed to foster:1) Increased knowledge of the phenomenon of dyslexia in adults and effective methodologies for rehabilitation;2) Increased knowledge and awareness of innovative pedagogical and digital strategies that can facilitate the learning process and lead to adaptation in the teaching process through different reports and manuals developed during the project cycle;3) Strengthening the competencies and skills of adult educators and service providers, providing them with an innovative and digital-based approach to teaching adults with dyslexia.<< Implementation >>The activities implemented by our project were:1) Development of the Common Dyslexia Signs and Remediation Strategies Handbook: main activities developed: Development of an inventory of innovative pedagogical and technological approaches for adults with dyslexia; Exploration of gaps and needs in adult dyslexia contexts; Provision of the Common Dyslexia Signs and Remediation Strategies Handbook (translated into Italian, Polish, Latvian, Bulgarian, Greek, English);2) Development of the DYGI4ADU Video courses: Learning to Achieve: Development and production of the DYGI4ADU video training modules; National piloting of the DYGI4ADU video training modules; integration of the feedback received;3) Preparing the open learning space and networking community delivery system: Creation of the multilingual space of the DYGI4ADU open learning space, Content integration, configuration and final fine-tuning and networking community.4) Promotion and sharing of DYGI4ADU results: Creation of the multilingual project website, dissemination materials, 6 international information days and 1 international conference.<< Results >>1) A handbook that will provide a general understanding of the signs and symptoms of dyslexia as well as the most effective strategies for dyslexia rehabilitation (available in six languages: English, Polish, Italian, Greek, Latvian, Bulgarian). 2) 5 video training modules DYGI4ADU: Learning to achieve: (piloting more than 60 trained adult educators); 3) A DYGI4ADU open learning space; over 60 adult learners and experts tested the platform; 4) Six (6) national policy recommendations; 5) Over 180 participants in the regional multiplier events; 6) almost 100 participants in the final conference.
