The digital transformation, increasing global networking and corresponding acceleration trends as well as environmental challenges currently contribute to rapid changes of society in general and the working world in particular, thus posing new requirements for sustainable leadership. Organizations and their involved actors are confronted with transformation processes which are not only highly complex, but time pressing and extensive. Hence, qualified experts on the complexity and the psychosocial impacts of these processes are needed who as future change managers have the capability to analyse and understand complex problem situations and conflict dynamics in contemporary societies and successfully initiate, lead and supervise transformation processes within organizational contexts. This calls for a distinct transculturally oriented socio-psychological perspective that can integrate systematically the diverse levels of (inter-)national, organizational, and disciplinary cultures involved in responding to these processes. The International Psychoanalytic University Berlin together with a European project consortium aims at answering this call by designing a two-year 120 ECTS fully integrated international Joint Master’s with the working title „Transcultural Social Psychology - Transformation Processes in Work, Environment, Society“ (TranSoPsy). The MA program will be developed in cooperation with universities from all over Europe and partners from civil society. Over a period of 15 months, the project will unfold through working groups, virtual and physical meetings, and bilateral staff mobilities. It contributes to the sectoral EU priorities 1 („A European Green Deal“), e.g. through courses addressing environmental issues from a psychological perspective, 2 („A Europe fit for the digital age“), e.g. through courses that explore psychological phenomena of digitalization, and 4 („A stronger Europe in the world“), e.g. through courses on sustainable leadership.
