<< Background >>We applied to address pressing EU environmental issues. Aligned with the EU's 2019-2024 green focus and the 2021-2027 climate action emphasis, our goal was to raise waste management awareness, given the rising waste in states like Croatia and Sweden from 1995-2019. Misunderstandings persisted about waste treatments; Eurostat data showed waste incineration increased by 30 million tonnes between 1995 and 2019.Furthermore, we aimed to boost youth civic engagement. Notable disparities existed in youth volunteering across Sweden, Croatia, and Germany. We sought to introduce sustainable approaches like 3R and C2C, promoting growth and jobs. Finally, enhancing collaboration between local entities and youth in environmental endeavors was pivotal, demanding innovative strategies in waste management and protection.<< Objectives >>Our project had several objectives:Elevate youth awareness about EU-stressed environmental challenges.Boost youth volunteering in environmental protection across three countries.Strengthen partner organizations for local collaboration and environmental risk mitigation.Localize European waste management insights, reflecting national and EU laws.Offer inclusive environmental tools for disadvantaged youth. To fulfill these:We crafted a learning system about waste, using EU and country-specific data.Hosted trial training for 45 youths using our manual.Readied youth workers from three partners for the training.Created a digital directory of local waste management stakeholders. All objectives align with our mission: spotlight environmental issues, emphasize youth engagement, and provide fresh strategies for waste management through robust training and collaboration.<< Implementation >>Throughout the project, we implemented several activities:Kick-Off Meeting: Initiated our project's journey.Creating Visions: Workshops to brainstorm sustainable local community ideas.Digital Depository: Developed a platform to house shared resources.Structured Dialogue: Discussions to foster local change.New Learning System: Produced an innovative training manual.Learning for Frontliners: A transnational exchange of best practices.Youth Workers Academy: Training sessions for youth facilitators.Performance Assessment Training: Evaluating new youth-focused methods.Digital Multiplicator Event: An online event to amplify our impact. These activities were integral in advancing our innovative training, shaping digital tools, and fostering best practice exchanges among partners.<< Results >>Throughout the project's duration, we achieved several significant outcomes:Digital Depository for Local Youth Work: We established a comprehensive online platform to store and share vital resources tailored for youth engagement.New Training Manual: In alignment with our dedication to environmental protection, we produced a detailed training manual that now serves as a guide for educators and activists.Innovative Learning System: We launched an e-learning module specifically designed for frontliners, further strengthening our educational reach.Strengthening Partner Organizations: Our concerted efforts ensured that collaborating organizations were better equipped to work with the youth in environmental protection.Inclusive Participation Methods: Recognizing the importance of inclusivity, we crafted unique methods to ensure the active participation of young individuals with disabilities. To foster an ethos of community sharing and to pave the way for future projects, all our results have been made publicly accessible as open resources for the broader EU community of youth workers.
