"<< Background >>We applied to carry out this project because we wanted to actively address the persistent problem of gender inequality, which—despite numerous efforts across democratic Europe—continues to significantly impact the lives of young women. Stereotypes reinforced by schools, media, and traditional social roles negatively affect their self-esteem and belief in their own potential.That is why the project aimed to promote a positive and empowering image of women as strong, independent, and equal to men. Its main goals were to raise awareness among participants and equip them with tools to advocate for gender equality, combat discrimination, and protect human rights.Thanks to the partnership between schools from Poland, Turkey, and Greece, we succeeded in creating a space for intercultural dialogue that helped young people better understand diverse social contexts and build open-minded attitudes.Intensive collaboration with NGO experts enabled valuable knowledge exchange, the development of practical skills, and the creation of a meaningful mentoring platform.Finally, for our partners from Turkey and Greece, the project served as a valuable debut in the Erasmus+ programme, while for Poland it was a significant test of its capacity.<< Objectives >>While implementing the project, our primary goal was to raise awareness among participants, their families, teachers, collaborating NGO representatives, and local communities about the role of women, their rights, and the challenges they face in different cultural contexts. We aimed to break down entrenched gender stereotypes, strengthen the position of women in society, and encourage young people—especially girls—to become actively involved in civic life.Our objective was to develop intercultural, language, digital, and social competences through the organization of five international mobilities and a range of local educational activities. We strived to build a lasting international partnership in support of democracy and active citizenship. We were particularly committed to initiating cooperation with NGOs and expert organizations—seeking to benefit from their experience in combating violence and discrimination. At the same time, we aimed to share the practical knowledge and insights developed by project participants from Poland, Turkey and Greece in the areas of human rights and gender equality. We believe this exchange can significantly contribute to the effectiveness and growth of initiatives undertaken by NGOs across Europe.<< Implementation >>Over the course of 22 months, the project successfully implemented five international meetings:LTTA1 ""Woman Past and Present"" (physical mobility in Poland),LTTA2 ""Powerful Women Figures"" (virtual event coordinated by Turkey),LTTA3 ""If I Were the Opposite Gender"" (physical mobility in Greece),LTTA4 ""Women as Victims of Violence"" (virtual event coordinated by Greece),LTTA5 ""Fighting for Women’s Rights"" (physical mobility in Turkey).Each LTTA involved a minimum of 24 students and 6 teachers from Poland, Turkey, and Greece. All activities were preceded by thorough cultural and organizational preparation. Virtual events were conducted via eTwinning, Zoom, and Google Meet platforms.Participants took part in workshops, presentations, meetings and discussions focused on gender equality, human rights, and counteracting violence. These project activities significantly increased students’ awareness of women’s historical and contemporary roles and their impact on social and cultural development.Moreover, the project provided young people with their first encounters with non-governmental organizations working in the field of civic engagement, offering a valuable space for gaining initial experience in civic and community action.<< Results >>1. The project implemented by schools from Poland, Greece, and Turkey contributed to strengthening the position of the partner institutions at the international level. Poland, as the coordinator, enhanced its experience in project management, while the partners from Greece and Turkey developed their skills in international cooperation.2. 5 mobilities, including 2 virtual ones, enabled participants to acquire and strengthen competencies in foreign languages, intercultural understanding, digital skills, and social abilities.3. The project's numerous and diverse activities effectively influenced the attitudes of young women: they gained self-confidence, motivation to engage in social action, greater awareness of their rights, and the ability to defend their dignity.4. The implementation of experiences gained by teachers during visits to partner countries enhanced the image of schools as modern, collaboration-oriented institutions sensitive to real social needs. The active involvement of host families additionally had a positive impact on the school’s perception in the local community.5. The involvement of NGO experts ensured the high quality and effectiveness of the project activities."
