<< Objectives >>The PR.I.S.C.I.LLA project aims to develop and test an educational programme to help young people with ID to make a safe and responsible use of social media and internet for social-relations. Based on principles of positive risk-taking, the main objective is to maximize the benefits in terms of expanding their social network and developing a positive identity while minimizing the risks associated with online sexual harassment and sexual cyberbullying.<< Implementation >>The PR.I.S.C.I.LLA project will: develop a comprehensive pedagogical methodology for young people with ID to provide them with skills to use social media safely; create a training course for youth workers to acquire the necessary skills and tools to pilot the methodology with their clients and to support them in case abuse is revealed; design an awareness raising for different stakeholders on benefits and risks of social media and how they can help young people with ID to balance them.<< Results >>In terms of results, PR.I.S.C.I.LLA will release: 1) a training programme for young persons with ID based on active learning techniques; 2) a b-learning course for youth workers aimed to provide them the necessary skills to support their clients in using digital tools safely; 3) a digital awareness raising programme targeting different stakeholders on benefits and risks of social media and how they can help young people with ID to balance them.
