<< Background >>We applied for the SeniorVlog project to address the significant digital divide that had been impacting older adults in the EU. Data showed that 43% of seniors aged 65-74 had not been using the Internet regularly, and only 18% had been active on social media. This digital exclusion limited their opportunities for connection, self-expression, and cognitive stimulation. The project aimed to empower seniors by providing them with the skills and confidence to engage in digital spaces as vloggers. Through the SeniorVlog Training and Mentoring Program, seniors gained key digital competences, fostering their inclusion in online communities and enhancing their quality of life. The program combined gamification, tailored mentoring, and interactive tools to support their transition into the digital world. This initiative also bridged intergenerational gaps, promoted active participation, and reduced stereotypes around technology and aging. It aligned with Erasmus+ goals by improving digital literacy, encouraging lifelong learning, and supporting educators with innovative methods to teach and mentor seniors effectively.<< Objectives >>By implementing the SeniorVlog project, we aimed to improve the digital inclusion of older adults by equipping them with skills to actively engage in social media as vloggers. We wanted to address the digital divide that left many seniors excluded from opportunities for connection, self-expression, and cognitive stimulation. The project focused on empowering seniors to confidently use technology and share their stories, passions, and expertise through vlogging. We developed the innovative SeniorVlog Training and Mentoring Program, incorporating gamification elements and personalized mentoring to make learning engaging and accessible. Our goal was to enable seniors to create meaningful content and build self-confidence.Additionally, we aimed to equip adult educators with new skills to support seniors effectively in their digital journey. By doing so, we sought to promote social inclusion, challenge stereotypes about aging, and highlight the value of senior voices in online communities. Ultimately, the project intended to enhance the well-being, independence, and active participation of seniors in modern digital spaces.<< Implementation >>In the SeniorVlog project, we implemented a range of activities designed to empower seniors and achieve our objectives. First, we conducted a comparative study on senior vlogging and social media usage across partner countries, identifying gaps and opportunities for improving digital inclusion. Based on this research, we developed the SeniorVlog Training Program, which included tailored modules to teach seniors digital and vlogging skills. To support the program, we created a Mentoring Guidebook, enabling mentors to provide personalized guidance to seniors throughout their learning journey. We also piloted the Training Program and Mentoring Guidebook in each partner country, ensuring they were well-adapted to seniors’ needs. These pilots were complemented by interactive workshops and online resources, such as the Senior Vlogging Guide, a self-study e-learning platform.According to needs of compering the way of learning and after getting permission from the NA we prepared analysis of preferences questionnaired participants of both the onsite Training program and the online course. After piloting the SeniorVlog Program we prepared Synthetics and recommendation for the policy and future users of this program. We organized multiple transnational meetings to coordinate efforts and ensure the project’s smooth progress. Dissemination activities were carried out to share results widely, including multiplier events and campaigns that showcased the seniors’ progress and vlogging content. These activities engaged both seniors and educators, bridging the digital divide and promoting intergenerational connections.<< Results >>The SeniorVlog project delivered several concrete outputs and results that directly supported its objectives. A key output was the SeniorVlog Training Program, consisting of tailored modules that equipped seniors with digital and vlogging skills, including content creation, video editing, and online safety. The program was designed with gamification elements to make learning engaging and accessible. We also produced a comprehensive Mentoring Guidebook, offering strategies and tools for mentors to effectively support seniors in their digital journeys. Additionally, we developed the Senior Vlogging Guide, an interactive online self-study course that provided a flexible learning option for seniors unable to attend in-person sessions.Other activities included the successful pilot testing of the training program and mentoring framework across all partner countries, involving seniors and educators who provided valuable feedback for improvements. Furthermore, the project fostered intergenerational connections and increased the visibility of senior voices online. Through dissemination activities, including multiplier events, the project reached a broad audience, raising awareness about the importance of digital inclusion for seniors.
