Green Revival: A Carbon-neutral Eco-journey

<< Background >>In implementing the project, we wanted to raise the awareness of project participants about the environment, carbon footprint and global issues related to climate change. We assumed that project participants would adopt conscious consumption habits and acquire knowledge about various ways of consuming that save the environment. In implementing the project, we wanted to raise awareness among project participants and school communities about interculturalism and European cohesion. We decided to develop the language and digital skills of both pupils and teachers. We also planned to effectively integrate content related to carbon footprints and effective environmental protection into the current curricula. n addition to raising awareness, our project aimed to actively address environmental issues, combat food waste and promote environmental innovation.<< Objectives >>We aimed to raise awareness among students and teachers about carbon footprints and environmental protection, and to enable them to actively explore and implement ways to reduce their carbon footprint. We planned to motivate students to adopt conscious consumption habits and raise their awareness of healthy food and global challenges such as global warming, climate change and pollution. We aimed to increase students' and teachers' awareness of intercultural diversity within shared European values. We planned to develop language and digital skills and increase interpersonal skills and confidence among all project participants. We provided opportunities for professional development for teachers, equipping them with knowledge and tools aimed at integrating carbon footprint-related content into existing curricula. The project aimed to bring schools and non-governmental organisations together by directly involving teachers, NGO staff, pupils and parents in order to achieve the set objectives. << Implementation >>As part of the project, we carried out the following activities:-Training for teachers and workshops for students from partner schools on carbon footprints, climate change, and strategies for incorporating content related to climate change and carbon footprints into existing curricula. Development of ways to mitigate the effects of climate change and ways to adapt to climate change- Training for students on calculating carbon footprints- A cooking competition in which participants will have to create tasty and nutritious meals using ingredients with the lowest carbon footprint.- Presentations on innovative approaches to sustainable development- Debate with pupils and teachers on climate change and carbon footprint reduction<< Results >>The project participants became more aware of their carbon footprint, environmental issues and global challenges. They gained a comprehensive understanding of the links between human activity, climate change and human impact on ecosystems and communities. Participants significantly improved their digital and language skills through interactive activities. Project participants integrated into environmental protection activities by creating school gardens and jointly developing recipes, then purchasing products, cooking meals and consuming them in their entirety. Another outcome of the project is the implementation of recycling bins. The project also resulted in a debate on climate change and carbon footprint reduction, which allowed for an exchange of views on ways to implement practical measures for a broadly understood eco-friendly lifestyle. Students in international groups also created presentations showing innovative approaches to sustainable development activities.
