<< Background >>The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly reshaped global job markets and economic conditions, leading to a heightened demand for jobs. Data from the World Bank shows that 80% of countries were unprepared for the shift towards digital education brought on by the pandemic, exacerbating challenges in achieving the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the goal to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth and employment. The pandemic's disruption of education for 1.4 billion students has also hindered national development goals. Our project addresses these challenges by aiming to enhance digital education in the European Union and establish a robust digital education infrastructure for future generations, with a focus on innovation. The primary goal is to identify digital gaps in Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and Cloud Computing within Vocational Education and Training (VET), developing corresponding educational materials and an assessment system through interdisciplinary training. << Objectives >>The main goals of our project focused on enhancing digital education and training within the EU, particularly in response to shifts brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project successfully targeted several key objectives:1) Development of Digital Skills and Innovative Technologies: We aimed to improve the teaching environment through the development of digital skills and the integration of innovative technologies such as Robotics, IoT, and Cloud Computing.2) Assessment and Feedback: By using innovative assessment methods, we guided students in identifying areas where they lacked skills, thereby increasing their motivation to learn through timely and necessary feedback.3) Promotion of Distance Education: Recognizing the growing importance of digital education due to the pandemic, we promoted distance education systems to enhance accessibility and continued learning.4) Vocational Education and Training Enhancement: We focused on promoting continuing VET, ensuring easy access to content through our distance learning platform, and aligning students’ skills with labour market needs.5) Strengthening Partnerships: The project supported strong partnerships between business and educational institutions<< Implementation >>Using the ADDIE methodology (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) a range of targeted activities was implemented to achieve our objectives in enhancing the skills and knowledge of VET students and teachers in Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and Cloud Computing (R-IoT-C). These activities were carefully designed to support the educational and professional development of our participants at various levels.1. Transnational Project Meetings (TPMs): We held 3 TPMs (Samobor, Rome, Tenerife)2. Development and Distribution of Intellectual Outputs (IOs): We developed three key Intellectual Outputs aimed at addressing the needs in R-IoT-C education:•IO1: A self-assessment tool to enhance the coding and programming capabilities of students.•IO2: Comprehensive learning materials to provide up-to-date content in the project's focus areas.•IO3: A Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) that served as a platform for wider dissemination of the course materials and facilitated accessible learning.3. Multiplier Events: We held 3 Multiplier Events (Spain, Lithuania, Croatia)4. Evaluation and Monitoring Activities: We established a rigorous monitoring and evaluation framework that included both formative and summative assessments. This framework helped in assessing the effectiveness of the activities and making necessary adjustments. Feedback was collected through surveys, interviews, and direct observations.5. Dissemination and Public Engagement: Despite challenges with social media engagement, we compensated through active participation in live events such as innovation fairs and external conferences. These activities were crucial in promoting the project outcomes and engaging with a broader audience.6. Pilot Testing and Implementation of learning materials: Pilot testing of the developed tools and educational content ensured that the materials were effective and met the needs of the target audience. This was complemented by continuous updates and improvements based on feedback from the pilot activities.7. Collaboration and Networking: The project facilitated extensive collaboration among partners and stakeholders, fostering a network that supported the exchange of ideas, shared best practices, and enhanced the overall quality of the educational offerings. These activities collectively contributed to the project's success, ensuring comprehensive coverage of educational needs in R-IoT-C technologies and equipping students and teachers with essential skills.<< Results >>To achieve our project goals, we've developed several key intellectual outputs:IO-1: Self-Assessment System: We've created a valid, reliable, and useful self-assessment tool to help students gauge their proficiency autonomously that offers self evaluation test and recommendations in English, Italian, Spanish, Lithuanian, Croatian, Romanian, and Turkish language available on: https://learn.riotc4vet.eu/IO-2: Hands-On Teaching Materials for R-IoT-C: Innovative teaching materials will be developed in the fields of Robotics, IoT, and Cloud Computing (R-IoT-C). These materials are tailored for future professions and will be compatible with the new evaluation system. These materials are available as books in project results platform in English, Italian, Spanish, Lithuanian, Croatian, Romanian, and Turkish language.IO-3: E-Learning Platform Development: An e-learning platform was designed to deliver training to Vocational Education and Training (VET) students and beyond, enhancing accessibility and reach. This learning platform offers 105 courses from Robotics, Internet of Things and Cloud computing in English, Italian, Spanish, Lithuanian, Croatian, Romanian, and Turkish language available on MOOC: https://learn.riotc4vet.eu/
