Designing green growth learning aids for young persons with disabilities

"<< Background >>Youth with disabilities face multiple forms of discrimination which leads to their exclusion from society and school. Attitudes toward children with disabilities, as well as a lack of resources to accommodate them, compound the challenges they face in accessing education. ""Green Growth"" project objectives were twofold: 1. Designing Inclusive Training Material: We created specialized training materials that empower young people with disabilities to learn about green growth and culture. 2. Promoting Tailored Learning Aids: the project designed specific learning aids for young people with visual, hearing and intellectual disability in the form of specially crafted audio-visual materials, special book, as well as a mobile application and project OER ensuring broader accessibility and engagement. Increasing social inclusion through innovative ways deserve attention and increased international cooperation for their development. There is a need to increase the provision of learning opportunities for young people with disabilities, to enrich the offer of tailored learning material and to contribute to social inclusion, encouraging the education institutions to further develop additional learning aids on other educational topics.<< Objectives >>“Designing green growth learning aids for young persons with disabilities” - Green tools objectives were aimed at addressing the challenges faced by youth with disabilities in accessing quality education tools and materials and to increase the provision of learning opportunities for young people with disabilities, to enrich the offer of tailored learning material and to contribute to social inclusion.Implemented activities were aimed at achievement of the project objectives: - identification and selection of the content for the learning curricula, research and best practices, specific for each participating country and creation of suitable learning content attractive to the youth and especially accessible for youth with disabilities - development of specific learning aids for young people with visual, hearing and intellectual disability.- promotion of these learning aids as a public good, especially to interested stakeholders, and their introduction in the learning process of schools as extracurricular activities. - promotion of the concept of a culture of Green growth in each of the countries and regions - improving the social inclusion of disadvantaged learners; - greater understanding of diversity; << Implementation >>In accordance to the project application, budget and timetable all project activities were carried out as planned, timely, efficient and with high quality performance by all project partners. Project activities conducted by the Green tools consortium included: -General activities of the project management-Administrative and financial aspects, -Communication between partners -Monitoring and evaluation-Activities related to the implementation, coordination and management of project activities:-Transnational project meetings: kick-off meeting, mid-term meeting, final evaluation meeting-Project results: R1: Developed learning content for the educational material suitable for young persons with disabilities of topics of green growth and culture R2: Produced audio for visually impeded and special books as learning aids for young persons with intellectual disabilities R3: Produced learning films about green growth and culture to each of the participating countries. R4: Created mobile application and compassion the developed learning material-Short-term joint staff training event “Youth in support to green growth and persons with disabilities”-Multiplier events - Multiplier events – 6 multiplier events -Dissemination, visibility and promotional activities<< Results >>The project produced educational material and learning content for blind, deaf, and intellectually impeded persons. Those are specially designed audio-visual aids, also presented in the format of a mobile application.
