<< Objectives >>The general objectives of the THE CLIMATE WE SPEAK project are enabling and encouraging successful communication on the topic of climate and sustainability in adult education for and with the target group of older people. In line with our participatory approach and broad perspective on adult education, older people are supported in establishing a personal connection to the topic of climate and sustainability, raise their voices and recognise scope for action.<< Implementation >>Adult educators are strengthened to find constructive and empathic ways to talk to older people about climate and sustainability issues (Learning Communities of Practice) and together with older people realise low-threshold formats (Climate Hubs) on climate issues in familiar settings. As experts of their living & working environment older people and adult educators bring in their expertise, actively contribute to the developing processes, co-create main results and inspire others to get active.<< Results >>All of our activities and results (e.g. Starting Kit, Learning Communities of Practice, Climate Hubs, How-to Guide, Collection of Climate Hubs Methods and Formats, Online-Webinars) will raise awareness on the issue of climate communication with older people. The THE CLIMATE WE SPEAK project also makes a contribution ensuring that older people take on an active and visible role in climate communication and in their neighbourhoods – as trusted voices and active citizens.
